Marathon Inspiration

30.04.2012 categories:

Have you been inspired by all those who ran the London Marathon last week Sunday ?

How lucky were they all it wasn't yesterday with this awful weather....

Different people do it for different reasons, but some do it for weight loss. Yes, it sounds crazy, but since training for a marathon requires you to train over a fair amount of months, it's an ideal challenge to add to your weight loss journey.

If it sounds like a daunting adventure, I'm totally with you on that one. However, there is always the possibility to walk the full distance.

And if you adopt a walk/run technique, you can still finish in a very respectable time.

It's not so much about the finishing time, as the fact that you're pushing yourself that one, or even more steps further than your comfort zone. And that's exactly what you need when you're trying to lose weight.

Being able to run or walk a marathon, does require you to take a close look at your nutrition as well. All those training sessions do require you to eat proper and nutritious food to fuel your body throughout the training weeks, and make sure you get through the event without running on empty.

Registration for next year's marathon ballot opens today April 30th, but if you've ever done any charity challenge before, you might already have received some emails asking if you would participate in 2013.

Don't delete those emails straight away. Think about it, and take up the challenge.

If you train right, you will see amazing results in your weight loss journey. Be it running or walking, or a combination of both. It doesn't matter. The end goal is to finish, and lose weight on the way.

Are you up for it ?
