A few weeks ago I met Jane Michell and was intrigued by what she was doing.
Jane, a nutritionist, came up with an idea of providing a whole weeks or more worth of food to your door and guarantees progressive weight loss over the weeks, as long as you stick to the plan.

I was a little apprehensive, but decided to give the diet a go for a week, as I was too curious to let it go without even trying.
I wanted to get answers to the few questions I had:
1. What kind of food can be delivered to your door that doesn't look and taste like the ready meals you find in the supermarket ?
2. Will I be hungry ?
3. Does it really work ?

The first stage of the JanePlan is to have a consultation with Jane. She went through some basic information such as age, weight, height, physical activity, desired weight.
And then she asked me questions about allergies and intolerances and what I didn't like eating or if I had any food restrictions.
And the last question was, when do you want to start.

Since being a Personal Trainer, I am quite active, my diet got fine tuned to my physical activity, however, with still making sure I would lose weight.

The box arrived on a Friday when I was going to start the diet on a Monday.
I have to admit, that when I opened the box, I thought "oh my God, I'm going to be very hungry...".
With the food, which was very varied and includes breakfast, snack, lunch and dinner, there is also a booklet.
The booklet contains lots of information about the diet, how to change habits, what to do and not do while on the diet, etc.
And at the end, your daily menu.
On Monday morning, I did weigh myself, and I got a call from Jane.
We went over the rules, check if I had any questions.
My main question was, can I swap lunch with dinner, as I do work late in the evenings, and prefer to have a larger meal at lunch, instead of late at night.
And yes, that was no problem at all.

So off I went and started.
On the second day, I had a strange one, as I was away from a microwave for quite a while, and got hungry.
However, all other days, I was very surprised to find out I wasn't hungry at all. Especially as the portion sizes are much smaller than anything I would normally eat.
But since it's a balanced diet, your body receives all the nutrients it needs, hence is not hungry.

With the food you get, all you're asked to add to it, is milk/yoghurt in the morning, some fruit, and some veggies (raw and steamed). Other than that, all is supplied.

Throughout the week, I got another few calls from Jane to check on me and see how I was doing, if I had any questions, etc.
Once you start the programme, you also receive a regular email with some healthy recipes for afterwards.

All in all, everything I had to eat was yummie.
And to top it all up, I did lose 1.2kg in one week.

The most important point to me was the realise what a portion size really is.
And having gone out since for a meal out, I realise that any restaurant portion is about 3 to 4 times too large.

So if you want to learn what to eat and how much to eat, and at the same time lose weight, I warmly recommend you try the JanePlan.
You can find more information at http://www.janeplan.com
or contact Jane on 02077318453 or email Jane on mydiet@janeplan.com
Don't forget to mention you got recommended by me, Anne Iarchy

And remember, a diet on its own isn't enough. If you don't want flabby skin after losing some weight, don't forget to exercise as well.

If you have any question regarding my experience with the diet, feel free to leave a comment, call me, Anne Iarchy, Personal Trainer North and North West London, on 07880627944 or email me anne@barnetpersonaltrainer.co.uk, and I'll be happy to answer any of your questions.
