You have been very good for 18 days, stuck to a healthy diet and have exercised regularly. Or even better, you've done it for much longer now. You have been losing weight on a weekly basis, but suddenly it all stopped.
Hitting a plateau is only normal in any weight loss and training journey, especially if you've been doing the same exercises over and over again.
Obviously initially whatever you start doing will provoke a change, be it weight loss and muscle definition. However, once your body gets accustomed to the same exercises over and over again, it stops changing, as it's not challenging anymore. And it doesn't matter how much you still sweat while performing the exercise. Sweat is not a measure of how your body will change!
That's the time you have to change your workout and get your body to do different exercises, or do the same exercise but differently.
Have you been walking on the treadmill ? Why not try cycling. Have you been swimming ? Try the rowing machine. Or even introduce interval training if you've been walking or cycling at the same pace for the same amount of time.
Have you been working at the gym with the machines ? Get in touch with a personal trainer, and ask them to show you how to use the free weights.
Have you been using free weights already ? Try to do the same exercise at a different angle, or use different weights, and do less or more repetitions.
Yes, you will continue and work the same muscles, however, differently. You have to get your body out of it's routine that it has just build up, and trick it into a continuous change.
If you don't change the exercise, don't expect anymore change to your body once your body gets accustomed to that specific workout.
It's all about variety and keeping your body guessing what's coming next.
