Well, what better reward can a personal trainer get than hearing their clients register for some active challenges such as a run, a walk, a half marathon, and others.
One of my clients, Diane Corriette, who you might remember from the Flabby to Fit in 12 Weeks videos, announced very publicly this week that she registered to walk a half marathon end of July this year.
Last year about this time of the year, she was breathless walking even a few minutes. So it's amazing to know that she took this challenge up.
As she rightly said, it does help her keep the focus on her fitness regime and weight loss journey. And at the same time, she's raising money for Walk the Walk, a breast cancer charity. There is no way you can walk a half marathon without proper training over the weeks to come.

A couple of months ago, another of my clients, Nathalie Bar, asked me if I thought she would be capable of doing the Race for Life in June. Her office was putting a team together, and she was contemplating to join in.
Knowing that it's only 5km, I told her that even if she walked it, it would probably take her about 1 hour. So any amount of running would make it shorter.
Off she went and registered, bought a good pair of running shoes, and now she's trying to stick to a running programme very similar to the Couch to 5k programme. Starting with 1 minute run and a few minutes walk and repeating that a few times, and slowly building up the running intervals.
She knows she has to go out there 3 times a week, twice for a shorter run and once for a longer run, or at least walk the remaining distance.
The whole process will help her with her continuous weight loss journey as well and keep her focused.

A third client of mine is contemplating registering for a local family charity run.
So all in all, I am a happy personal trainer to see my clients endorsing a healthier lifestyle, and register for challenges they never thought they could even attempt doing before.
