Have you decided it's time to embark on your weight loss journey and need to lose quite a lot of weight ?

Breakdown your weight loss goal into smaller goals. Start by aiming to lose 10% of your current body weight. Losing 10% of your body weight is a great step forward to your total weight loss goal, but it also will lead to other health benefits.

Aside from being able to fit in a smaller size of clothing, looking better, feeling more energetic, enjoying the compliments and losing inches, there are other benefits of losing 10% of your body weight:

  • Lower blood pressure
  • Reduced risk of heart disease and diabetes
  • Lower your cholesterol levels
  • Reduced risk of heart attack
  • Might lead you to take less medication
  • Prepares you to attack the next stage of your weight loss journey


So how do you achieve that ?

Once you set your goal of losing 10% of your current body weight do the following:

  • Cut down 10% of your total calorie intake
  • Do 10% more exercise
  • Drink 10% more water


Make a rule not to weigh yourself more than once a week, and soon, you'll be ready to tackle your next 10% batch until you reach your total weight loss goal. Beware, at some point you might not want to cut down another 10% of your total calorie intake as this might lead to under eating. However, to start of it, that shouldn't be a problem.

Remember, once the journey has started, you will have so much more energy, exercise will become a habit and way of life, and eating healthier and smaller portions will just be second nature.
